As a donor, authorise a number for Text to Give
Donors should be encouraged to authorise their number for easy and secure donations.
To authorise their mobile number, when making a Text to Give donation via the Text to Give donation form, donors can select the authorization option on step 3.
If a donor did not authorise their number during their first Text to Give donation then can always choose this option on the Text to Give donation form when making any subsequent donations.
Note: Donors are not forced to authorise their number and this remains optional. However, when a donor’s number is not authorised, the donor will be required to use the Text to Give donation form for each donation. Donors should be encouraged to authorise their number for easy and secure donations. Donors will be able to authorise their mobile number for quicker and easier future donations. All they have to do is turn on the authority to store the number for future giving.
Add an authorised Text to Give number on behalf of a donor
You can manage authorised Text to Give numbers on behalf of donors.
Log in to app.Generous™.com and go to Menu > Donor > Individual. Find the donor and click on “manage”. Then go to the “Authorised Number” tab.
To add a number on behalf of a donor, in the top section choose the area code, then enter the number and click Add. The donor will receive a text message with an authorisation link. Once the link has been accessed by the donor, the number will be authorised (your may need to refresh your browser to see this change).
Once authorised, donors can text a keyword and amount to your unique Text to Give number and make donations in seconds.
